From beer festivals to live music concerts headlined by world class artists who need no introduction, there truly is something for everyone in Malta’s jam-packed summer calendar, and as hard as it was to choose our top picks from this year’s line-up, here are our top 5: Music lovers, we’ve got three words for you: Malta. Music. Week. For an entire week, the island transforms into a paradise for music lovers, with parties and special nightclub events being organised every night… We can’t wait to see Ella Eyre rock the G7 Fridays stage at Gianpula Village on the 22nd of July and Joel Corry hitting the decks at the picturesque Café Del Mar beach club two days later! However, the highlight of the week is undoubtedly the highly anticipated Isle of MTV concert, which is back with a bang for its 14th edition in Malta with headliners DJ Marshmello and French Montana. When: 19th July 2022 Where: The Granaries, Floriana Lights, camera, STRUT! The biggest names in Maltese fashion will be coming together for three days of stunning showcases, culminating in the show-stopping Malta Fashion Awards on the final day against the stunning backdrop of Malta’s Grand Harbour in the capital city. If you’d like the opportunity to mingle with Malta’s top designers, models, influencers and stylists, this is definitely the place to be. When: 20th – 22nd July 2022 Where: Mediterranean Conference Centre, Valletta Bottom’s up… The warm weather calls for a cool pint of beer (or two). This summer, the Farsons Great Beer Festival will be returning to Ta’ Qali, promising an unforgettable fortnight of beer drinking, food tasting and dancing to live performances by various local artists and bands. Later in the summer, Pinta will be taking over Malta’s capital city, offering live music, beer workshops and over 200 different types of beers from all over the world. Oh and we didn’t even mention the best part yet – the entrance to both events is free! When: 28th July – 6th August 2022 / 26th August – 28th August 2022 Where: Ta’ Qali Crafts Village, Ta’ Qali / Triton Square, Valletta Nina Kraviz. Anetha. Ben Klock. Ben Sims presents Ron Bacardi. These are just some of DJs at the forefront of the house and techno music scene which will be rocking up to the island for the 5th edition of Glitch Festival in August. Hi-tech sound systems will be powering 4 days of non-stop raves in 3 different locations, from the opening party in Valletta, to an all-day boat party, to a decked-out 7-stage setup at Malta’s number one clubbing hotspot. When: 13th August – 16th August 2022 Where: Valletta / Gianpula Village, Rabat Ready to take your day by the pool to the next level? Welcome to the most awaited pool party of the year, with this year’s edition promising to be wilder than ever. Grab your swimwear, sunglasses and your dance shoes; stunning views, infinity pools, unforgettable DJ sets and a day of partying into the sunset await. When: 27th August 2022 Where: Café del Mar, Saint Paul’s Bay …And this is just a taster of what Malta has to offer over the summer. We haven’t even mentioned the festas with the colourful firework displays every weekend and the countless events that have gone down already, including the Lost and Found festival, Abode and Armier Beach Party, which our AV team has had a hand at setting up.
